Hans Beier Ommen

Hans Beier Ommen is Consultant at the Department of Hematology at Aarhus University Hospital and Clinical Associate Professor at Aarhus University in Denmark. He has a PhD in molecular methods of early relapse detection in AML, and this area remains his main research focus. As a consultant, Hans treats patients with leukemias or diseases in the myeloid stem cells, primarily patients with myelodysplastic syndromes or AML.

Currently, he is President of the Danish Acute Leukemia Group and Head of a research group focusing on development of methodologies for measurable residual disease (MRD) monitoring in acute myeloid leukemia. He has been doing MRD research sine the late 1990s.
